University Curling Nationals at SSC Next Week

The best university curlers from across the country will hit the ice at the Saville Sports Centre (SSC) from March 10-14, as we play host to the CIS/CCA Canadian University Championships.
This is an extremely prestigious competition, with the winning men’s and women’s teams earning the right to represent Canada at the 2011 FISU World Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey.
The University of Alberta is being represented by the SSC team of Jessica Mair, Dana Ferguson, Joanne Taylor, Rachel Pidherney, Erica Ort (alternate) and Garry Coderre (coach) on the women’s side, and by the SSC team of Eric Richard, Karrick Martin, Brett Hilker, Kody Moncrief, Parker Konschuh (alternate) and Randy Olson (coach) on the men’s side. Both teams have had solid seasons, and have an excellent chance to do well.
Ticket prices are very reasonable, at only $5 for any evening draw, $10 for a full day, and $25 for the entire week. As an added bonus, the Brier will be on multiple televisions in the Balmoral Lounge, so spectators won’t miss any of the action in either event. We hope that you will join us to take in some or all of the action.
